Is the word "weird" an offensive word to say?
OK. "Weird"=very strange, abnormal, supernatural. . . whatever.
To me, at least, means nothing. I mean that it does not have such a heavy or scornful meaning whatsoever. "Oh you're weird". I say that if someone acts a bit odd. What do you think? Is the word "weird" offensive?
Actually I said this to my flat-mate. She was alright with it. Here comes another flat-mate. He was listening to this and went. . . well basically that was not nice thing to say to her. According to him, saying somebody weird is rude. I had a massive "?" in my head. In fact that "?" went "Is it?". I explained that "weird" is not that rude word to me. But he was like, "I say good day to you" and left a room.
I asked my female flat-mate if I offended her when he was there. She said no. All clear.
Daaaaah, I don't know. I still have this"???" in my head.
Did he get offended me saying "weird" to her or what? Or he didn't like me saying rude words inc. s***, f***, etc.?
You know. . . it's soooooo annoying to make somebody disturb, annoy, angry, serious, whatever.
Furthermore. . .
you know, so many people criticise, complain, speak evil of others behind their back. I don't like that. I believe it's better say those things directly to them. Even if I get a "fist" because of that. I don't care. So I would call people weird if they don't get offend by that.
Well, I guess I'll talk about that with the flat-mate if I remember. Cos tomorrow is academically hard day. . .
