Paul Draper Uncut Interview

Paul Draper revealed how Mansun came to an end in his interview with Uncut magazine.

Mansun "sacked the bass player" since he withdrew "hundreds of thousands" from Mansun's account without other members' consent. Paul seemed to fell very sad about his betrayal.

And presumably as a kind of retaliation, Mansun members broke into the bassist's wine cellar and tried to pick out the best bottle of champagne and got punched. Chad the guitarist punched a brick wall and sent to a hospital.

Paul was being said he was delusional paranoid schizophrenic. All of this was such a stress for him. Eventually he got a malignant tumour on his left middle finger. He went thorough 5 courses of radiotherapy till having it cut out. Because he was tired of all these things, he threw his many gold and platinum discs away.


This is quite depressing indeed. Many Mansun fans would have felt "Finally" to his revelation. It has been 3 years since Mansun's split. Why Paul Draper revealed this now? Is it because he might have thought that telling the reason after Mansun's break up might have threat the bassist life. . . ? Thus Paul Draper is very kind and warm hearted guy? Yes that is maybe. We know he is very loyal and yes, he is quite kind as well. But if you think that Paul tried to protect the Mr Bassist, then you must like suspense films. Or Paul just overcame that series of depressing incidents, digested the fact by travelling, writing, watching telly etc. and obtained emotional freedom in him. So he revealed. . . That is also maybe. Who knows I am not the Draper-drip.

Anyway, Paul Draper is expecting to release his new album next year. Thrill and drool for the brill.
